You will come to an agreement with your consultant on the rate you wish to be represented at for each role prior to your CV being represented to the client. Often candidates who are immediately available, looking at the permanent market, are surprised at the nature and scope of opportunities presented by the contract market and enjoy the flexibility contracting can offer.
